UNDERSTANDING THE WORK
A lived-in blonde is a low-maintenance blonding technique designed to create soft dimension, natural brightness, and a seamless grow-out. Unlike traditional highlights that often require frequent touch-ups, lived-in colour is strategically placed to blend beautifully as your hair grows. This approach creates a more effortless, luxury finish while maintaining the brightness and impact blondes love. Lived-in blondes are ideal for clients looking for a softer, more natural blonde with fewer salon visits throughout the year.
Grey blending is a customized colour technique designed to soften and diffuse grey hair instead of fully covering it with a harsh solid colour. By strategically blending lighter and dimensional tones throughout the hair, grey blending creates a softer, lower-maintenance grow-out and a more natural overall result. This service is ideal for clients who want to embrace their natural grey more gracefully while still maintaining brightness, depth, and polish.
Balayage is known for its soft, low-maintenance grow-out, which allows many clients to go 3 to 9 months between major colour appointments. Because the colour is hand-painted and blended naturally, there is no harsh line as the hair grows out. Many guests choose to refresh their tone or brightness in between full appointments with glossing or partial maintenance services to keep their colour looking fresh and dimensional.
In many cases, yes. Healthy blonding requires a thoughtful and customized approach. Achieving blonde hair safely depends on your hair history, current condition, colour goals, and long-term maintenance plan. Sometimes becoming your ideal blonde is a gradual process completed over multiple appointments to help protect the integrity of your hair. Professional products, proper technique, and realistic expectations all play a major role in maintaining healthy, beautiful blonde hair.
HAIR CARE & MAINTENANCE
Blonde maintenance depends on the type of blonding service you receive and your desired level of brightness. Most guests return every 12 to 20 weeks for lived-in blondes or balayage, while brighter blondes and traditional foil work may require maintenance every 6 to 8 weeks. Regular glosses, toning appointments, trims, and professional haircare also help maintain healthy, dimensional blonde hair between visits.
Healthy blonde hair starts with professional lightening techniques and continues with proper at-home care. Using salon-quality shampoo, conditioner, heat protection, and hydrating treatments helps preserve the strength, shine, and tone of blonde hair. Limiting excessive heat styling and staying consistent with trims and maintenance appointments also helps prevent breakage and dryness. The goal is always beautiful blonde hair that still feels healthy, soft, and strong.
BOOKING & CONSULTATIONS
If you're unsure which blonding service is best for your hair goals, don't worry, that's completely normal. Factors like your current hair colour, desired brightness, maintenance preferences, and hair history all help determine the best approach. Whether you're looking for a bright blonde transformation, soft lived-in dimension, balayage, grey blending, or subtle brightness, your appointment can be customized during the consultation process to create the right plan for your hair.
Appointments can be booked online through the booking link on the website. If you're unsure what service to choose, you're always welcome to reach out before booking for guidance and recommendations. The goal is to ensure every guest is booked for the right service and enough time is reserved to achieve the best possible result.
Yes. Consultations are available for guests looking for guidance before a colour appointment, major transformation, extension service, or corrective colour work. Consultations allow time to discuss your hair history, inspiration photos, maintenance expectations, pricing, and long-term goals so a personalized plan can be created specifically for you.
That's completely okay. Many guests aren't sure exactly which service category fits their hair goals, especially with customized blonding and colour work. If you're uncertain, simply book the option that feels closest to your goal or reach out directly for guidance before booking. YOUR APPOINTMENT
Bringing inspiration photos is always helpful during a consultation. Photos of your current hair in natural lighting, your desired colour goals, and examples of tones or styles you love can help create clarity around the final result you're looking for. It's also important to be honest about your hair history, including previous colour, box dye, extensions, or chemical treatments, so the healthiest and most realistic plan can be created for your hair.
Rox the Fox Hair is located inside Mint Hair Studio in Kelowna, BC. Detailed location information and directions are provided prior to your appointment to ensure a smooth and comfortable arrival experience.
Arriving with clean, dry hair is generally recommended unless otherwise instructed. Bringing inspiration photos and having a clear understanding of your maintenance expectations can also help create the best possible result. If you have previous colour history, extensions, box dye, or specific concerns about your hair, sharing those details ahead of your appointment is always encouraged.
